Release Notes Happy Hour is our series of online events that give online entrepreneurs an opportunity to compare notes and make new friends. After holding our event at a time that was convenient for Europeans last month, in August we return to a North American time zone!
This month, Release Notes Happy Hour will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 7:00 PM EDT. The plan is to divide everyone into smaller groups of four or five people so that you can have a meaningful conversation with your group. After 30 minutes or so, we'll shuffle the groups and do it again. The idea is to give everyone a chance to meet other like-minded people in a virtual small group setting.

How is this going to be held?
Our group call will be held via a Zoom call. Additional details, including the link, meeting code, and any password that is needed will be sent to everyone who registers prior to the event.
When is the call?
The call will start on Thursday, August 27 at 7:00 PM EDT. That’s midnight (August 28) in London, 7:00 PM in New York, and 4:00 PM in Los Angeles. We expect to do two or three rounds of chat, so the call should be finished by around 8:30 PM EDT.
What will we talk about?
There will probably be some shop talk about our businesses, but that doesn't mean that's all you can talk about. Feel free to go wherever the conversation takes you, whether that is talking about your kids, sports, banjo playing, or anything else.
Can you tell me some more about the format?
Anyone who has attended the dine-around at one of our Release Notes Conferences knows how great it can be to have the chance to meet and get to know people in small groups. We hope to replicate some of that magic using the “breakout rooms” feature offered by Zoom.
The plan is to give everyone a chance to join the call at the appointed time, and then divide everyone into groups of 4 or 5 people, so that they can chat as a small group. After 30 minutes or so, we will shuffle the rooms and do it again. We'll have a total of three shuffles. The hope is that these smaller groups will give everyone a chance to have meaningful conversations, and share ideas with others.
