Today we address the kerfuffle surrounding apps prompting for App Store reviews, and the campaign to rate these apps with only one star. We catch up on the backstory surrounding the controversy, share our opinions on the campaign, and consider whether it’s ever appropriate to prompt users for ratings. Charles shares a case study from his own app in which he made a change in how his customers are prompted for ratings, and the unintended consequences of that change. We close with with a few ideas of how Apple could help fix this problem if they wanted to.
